I'm Waiting...

Welcome to those of you joining me from Magik Mouse and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 3rd stop on our Magical Blogorail.

It's been nearly a year.  The announcement came at last September's Meet Up, Eat Up event, and I'm waiting.  Not a single day spent on the track or treadmill has passed without that carrot dangling in front of my mind's eye.

This photo was taken (see me smiling?) right after Faron Kelley, Director of Marketing for Disney Sports Attractions, had addressed the group:
  1. Given the early success of the inaugural  Tinker Bell Half Marathon (January 29th, 2012 in Disneyland), Disney was strongly considering adding another such race into the Walt Disney World line-up!!  He suggested staying tuned to runDisney on Facebook or to follow #runDisney on twitter for the news.  Well, I assume that the roll-out of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-Miler Weekend last December fit that bill.  Great!   My bags are almost packed for that one.
  2. runDisney will be reaching globally in the near future!  If you've read my post about my run around Disneyland Paris, you know how excited I was to hear that tidbit.  (Running in Shanghai, yeah, I could do that!)
And so I began my personal dream of running through every Disney Castle around the world.

Why not?  I am officially an empty-nester as of this month.  I've learned a lot in my two years of running, and I know I need to be challenged.  And dream.  I figure it is a perfectly logical next step in our nearly 50 year Disney adventure.  Well, I'm two castles down, and waiting; chomping at the bit.  What's/where's next?  A marche through Le Chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant in Paris, or a sprint through シンデレラの城  (Cinderella Castle)?

We were so lucky to visit Disneyland Paris last summer, and yes, we did walk through Sleeping Beauty Castle, but that is magic of a completely different sort.  My boys have been planting the Tokyo Disneyland seed ever since Tokyo DisneySea opened.  Mind you, I haven't forgotten Hong Kong and Shanghai either.

Sooooooo, I'm running.  And waiting.  Good thing I bought that copy of Jeff Galloway's Running Until You're 100.  The one Disney destination I've always wanted to visit but haven't yet had the chance?  That depends where the medals are.

Thank you for joining me today.  Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail is Delightfully Disney.
